• ‘బోనం’ అంటే భోజనం. కుండ అనే మరో అర్థం కూడ ఉన్నది. అదే దేవికి సమర్పించే నైవేద్యం. కొత్త మట్టి కుండకు పసుపు రాసి కుంకుమ బొట్లు పెట్టి వేపాకులను జడగా అల్లి కుండకు కడుతారు. పూలమాల కూడ కడుతారు. ఆ కుండలో పసుపు కలిపి వండిన అన్నంతో పాటు పాలు, పెరుగు, బెల్లం, అల్లం, పచ్చిపులుసు, ఆకుకూర మొదలగు వంటకాలను నైవేద్యంగా పెట్టుకొని దానిపై మరో చిన్న కుండను పెడుతారు.

• చిన్న కుండను కూడా అలంకరించి దానిలో నీళ్లు పోసి అందులో కొంచెం బెల్లం, పెరుగు వేస్తారు. దీనినే ‘సాక’ అంటారు.

• ఈ చిన్న కుండపై మట్టి కంచుడు ఉంచి అందుల నూనె పోసి గండదీపం వెలిగిస్తారు. డప్పులతో, పోతరాజు ఆటలతో, మంగళహారతులతో ఊరేగింపుగా గుడికి పోతారు.
